Guild Ball - Figo League Starts This Week

Guild Ball has taken off at the First Founding Gaming club, with five or six games occurring each work. It's now so popular, everyone has been requesting we start a league. Rather than pitch straight in with Season Two's excellent 'Big League' system, we will kick off with Season One's Figo League Cup system, but use Season 2 plot cards.

After the break, is the rules for the Figo League Cup.

Make your own Horus Heresy Themed Objective Markers

Slight divergence from my usual posts, today I'm going to show you how I made my own Objective markers.

I'm running a 30K narrative tournament at the end of the month for Orktoberfest. I'm going to need many objective markers for the missions. It would get costly quickly if I had bought them, so I opted to make my own.

30K: Building My Emperor's Children - Part Four Fast Attack

It's been a while since my last instalment of this series. I've been focussing a lot on painting my first 1,000 points so I can get some Heresy gaming done, and organising the Heresy narrative coming at the end of this month.

 I'm going to make good use of the Fast Attack slot, as it has some great units for my play style. here is the list of options you get in the Fast Attack slot.

  • Seeker Squad
  • Outrider Squad
  • Attack Bike Squadron
  • Jetbike Sky Hunter Squadron
  • Land Speeder Squadron
  • Javelin Attack Speeder Squadron
  • Primaris-Lightning Strike Fighter
  • Storm Eagle Assault Gunship

  • Anvillus Pattern Dreadclaw Drop Pod

30K: Building My Emperor's Children - Part Three Elites

Time to move on to the Elite choices. The Force Org chart for the Age of Darkness (30K) allows up to 4 choices in the Elite spot. Which is great, because there are many great options for this slot. As discussed previously, I'm using the Pride of Legion Rite of War which makes Legion Terminators and Legion Veteran Tactical squads troops. So no need to discuss again here. So what are the other options?

  • Techmarine Covenant
  • Apothecarion Detachment
  • Dreadnought Talon
  • Mortis-Dreadnought
  • Contemptor Talon
  • Mortis-Contemptor
  • Rapier Weapons Battery
  • Rylanor the Unyielding
  • Palatine Blades

30K: Building My Emperor's Children - Part Two Troops

With my HQ options sorted it's time to look at the troop choices. Unlike 40K, 30K Space Marine lists have 5 options for the Troop choice.
  • Tactical Squad
  • Assault Squad
  • Breacher Siege Squad
  • Tactical Support Squad
  • Reconnaissance Squad


I will get on to these shortly, as I will be choosing the Pride of the Legion Rite of War, this also opens up Terminators Squads, Veteran Tactical Squads and Phoenix Guard Terminators as troops too. These must be chosen as the compulsory troop choices, so that's at least two units in a standard Age of Darkness Force Org.

30K: Building My Emperor's Children - Part one HQ

I'm down to my last 10 Daemonettes, and it's time I start looking at my next project: 30K Emperor's Children. I will be blogging my progress from start to finish, from list building, to modelling, to painting and finally to playing.


So, why Emperor's Children? It's no secret that I'm a fan of Slaanesh, this blog is called Slave To Slaanesh afterall! What really draws me to the Emperor's Children is that they were beloved by the Emperor enough to give them his name, and his heraldry, but their quest for perfection to be worthy of using His name turns to arrogance and ultimately sees them fall to Slaanesh.

Plus, I am now a big fan of Purple and Gold. I can't wait to put paint on some Marines! 

But before I start modelling and painting I want to sit down and make a list. I find having a list when you start a new project helps focus the effort without getting side tracked by big shiny things, of which there are many many BIG shiny things in 30K.

Independent Characters Hobby Progress Challenge 2014

I have decided to join this years Independent Characters Hobby Progress Challenge. With a slight change to previous years, the first half of the challenge is a 1,000 points Zone Mortalis Force, the second half being a 2,000 points regular 40K game.
